The focus of this event is LinkedIn and its utility as a social networking tool. LinkedIn is far more than just a means of keeping in touch with people. These days, in business it seems that everyone has a LinkedIn profile and this makes it a very powerful recruiting tool as well as the perfect place to make others aware that you are looking for a new job opportunity. Sales and marketing professionals are using LinkedIn to engage with current and target customers and research organisations are also finding LinkedIn a valuable source of information and data. Social networking is radically changing the way we communicate in many aspects of our lives and this is especially true in the business world. Understanding and embracing online networking has become an essential skill for professionals from all sectors.

Founded by InfoLab21 in 2006, the Blackpool and Fylde Cluster group is a support network open to anyone from a business or institution where Information and Communication Technology plays a key role in their daily operations.

Mark Williams is widely regarded as the UK's foremost LinkedIn expert and trainer. This was recognised in 2010 when Mark became the first and only certified trainer approved by LinkedIn in this country. Mark will talk through some of the basic concepts of online networking, provide real examples of how other users have had great success and offer some tips and advice on how to get the most from LinkedIn.
